While Rufus Thomas, Tommy Tate, and Eddie Floyd made their mark as soul singers, they reveal here their genuine blues credentials. Ivory Joe Hunter sold millions of records as a crossover crooner, but his early blues roots are on full display here. 

Eddie Cotton is a rising, dynamic young bluesman in the tradition of Little Milton, Howlin’ Wolf, and Muddy Waters.  

Di Anne Price’s stride piano is so old-fashioned it's refreshingly new. Close your eyes, and it’s like stumbling into a 1940s barrelhouse. 

Brenda Patterson’s rendering of “Memphis At Midnight” shows why she’s a solid favorite of Memphis blues aficionados.
