Blues Man’s Ball Volume Three is the third release in LocoBop’s series showcasing southern blues at its best, and we’ve got say it’s the strongest compilation yet! Every track is a must have for blues aficionados.

Eddie Cotton’s “Walking the Back Streets” showcases a dynamic young bluesman in the tradition of Little Milton, Howlin’ Wolf, and Muddy Waters.

New Orleans blues fixture Charles Jacobs contributes an original track called “Wolf Howl,” while from upriver, the Memphis All Stars tell us about a “Good Man Down.” And the Memphis Queen, Carla Thomas authenticates her blues credentials with “Little Red Rooster.”

Back to New Orleans, Selwyn Cooper & The Hurricane Blues Band put their stamp on Elmore James’s “The Sky is Crying.” West along the Gulf Coast to Houston, harmonica maestro Tommy Dardar laments about a “Crazy Mixed Woman”, while Beale Street headliner Papa Don McMinn has troubles of his on with a “Mean and Evil Woman.”

New Orleans favorite Carol Fran gives the Barbara George classic a barrelhouse twist, and Mississippi’s Carson Whitsett channels Ray Charles on his instrumental “Po’ Mouthing.”

The iconic Albert King puts his “Finger on the Trigger,” and Di Anne Price is “Waitin’ and Drinkin’ with her stride piano. Close your eyes - you’ll swear you’ve stumbled into a 1940s barrelhouse.

From Dwayne Dopsie & The Zydeco Hellraisers, “I’m a Traveling Man” is prime swamp blues. Closing out is Tara Darnell with an absolutely stunning version of “Ain’t No Sunshine.”
